cold start?

my friend has an 88 vert and it will never start right in the cold, exact symptoms, idk. but all i know is once you try to start it, it wont, but you go back an hour later, and it will start, but seems like its not getting the right amount of gas form the injectors?

any ideas?

Well this is caused by numerous reasons if you look in yhe factory manual. But the majority of the time its just a good indication of thr fuel pump starting to go. Cold starts are not a sign of low compression, so rule that theory out.

i seem to be having the same problem...i turned it off one night and i went out the next morning and nothing....when ever i would turn the key i would get about 3 or 4 cranks before it sounds like it kinda wants to do something but then it goes back to cranking..after that i might give it some gas, then i might get one pop then it goes back to cranking...the thing is, i replace the fuel pump not to long ago. i personaly have been having some coolant problems lately so that might be why its not starting...im doing my rebuild very soon so we'll see what the problem was.
