Cold Airbox Kit
Hi everybody, thinking of a little project here. for the 1987 N/A.
I have the K&N Filter Cold Air Intake Kit..and I was wondering if anybody knows or had any experience with Mariah Cold Airbox Kit 1986-1992 Turbo II & Non-Turbo.
Here's the link...

What kind of schematics? Do you have the shapes on paper, so all you just need to do is cut out the sheet metal to that shape? If so can you post it?

very high quality and worth it to me...its a fiberglass type material which doesnt hold in any heat that a metal box would
highly recommended

Like everyone else, I'd love to see the schematics and even a thread on your progress.
I am glad you made it work ramello, but I have had a much different experience. I bought the Mariah air box enclosure for my 88 TII and it did not fit at all. I tried to mount it multiple times with no success and had to cut an area out for the A/C line that ran underneath it. I would not recommend this panel to anyone. For the price it is not worth it. Buy your own materials, measure carefully, and make your own close out panel for a fraction of the cost of this piece. Lesson learned!
I spent the money for a headlight cover vent, I have not put it in yet but I thought it was worth it and looks good to. When I see cars with FTP lens that are missing I always think it just looks broken and thay have not fixed it yet, or does that person think it makes his car look better?

When you say things like this, you show that you don't have any real experience in chemistry. Air mass (amount of molecules) and temperature are independent from pressure. 15psi at one temperature is not equal to 15psi at another. The way air heats up when pressurized depends on it's initial pressure.
A cold air intake does help a turbo car.

You still don't get it. If the air goes in the intake cooler, it will leave the intake cooler. The intercooler will NOT bring air of all temperatures down to the same temperature. There's a rate of heat transfer there, not a fixed temperature that it cools to. That transfer rate will also depend upon your airspeed and humidity.
dont forget the air from your intake passes through your hot turbo..
i think your intercooler setup is more important then worrying about incoming air..
but yah, any way to supply the air filter with fresh air is still better then nothing.

wait so ur saying this cold air intake box is good? I thought the stock location for the fc getting cold air was from the front of the car not the side of it..???, thats why they'res such a big piece of plastic redirecting air to the intake...
Stock location should be fine.
OEM setup has a air feed to it.. well because that box is sealed.. it needs ports to be feed from..
hence why you never see "Cold air intakes" for turbo cars... because the intercooler does that job.. Even if you did have a cold air.. your only limited to whatever temp the IC is at.. so if your intercooler is "heatsoaked".. yah it wont do much to have that cold air.
