I built a three sided box out of aluminum sheet metal and sealed it off to the hood with 2X2 foam insulation. I have a fresh air headlight cover that feeds the box.. However, it doesn't work so well when the headlights are up, so, when i have the front end apart to mount the FMIC, I'm going to make some ductwork to feed it from under the front of the car.

I did my own CAI/TID and dropped the cone filter down below the front headlight. You can see it at my website (in my sig, then go to CAI/TID Project). Here's a couple shots of it....

I was thinking of ripping out my washer fluid reservoir and running the intake there, but there was too much tish in the way.

White_Seven- I've heard people say that having the AFM not level caused them problems. Yours works fine like that?

edit: oh, that's what you did. Cool to see that it worked out. I'm gonna have to rip that sucker out now

You can either bring the cold air to the filter - or take the filter to the cold air.

I brought the air to me!

Whatever you decide to to, please run a water bypass. While you will never hydrolock a rotary, sucking in a litre or two of water will stall the engine and foul plugs. And if your car is turbocharged, you do NOT want all that water hitting a compressor spinning at 100,000+ RPM.
