Cold Air Intake

Has anyone made their own cold air intake? I tired searching but didn't find any info on it. I'm thinking of building one I'm just wondering how hard it is to do on a FC.

Thanks

Not what I'd call easy, but if you're lucky enough to have an aftermarket radiator, most of the brands have a "lip" on the right side that can be trimmed to allow a 3" aluminum pipe through. You can also put an irregular-shaped pipe in there.

Thus, you can put a K&N in front of the radiator. If you live where there's lots of water on the road, get a bypass valve.

You can also make an insulated box that pulls through that space or use the space that the stock snorkel pulls through.

The stock setup is a "cold air" setup, but it's a huge low-velocity box made of black plastic bolted to the radiator, so it's kind of like a mongoloid cold-air box.

OOooh... where does it go? Try where the fog lights are supposed to be. Now that's about the coldest air you're going to get. And the wettest.

Damn dirty dirty engine.

That's 3" pipe, going down to a 2.5" reducer. Or is it 2". I can't remember, but all I know is that I need to get that MAF sensor in there!
