coils dont line up to engine

I have a question on this new 89' auto vert I picked up I noticed that the trailing coils arebackwards and they goto the wrong housing

currently the t1 coil goes to the upper rear plug and the t2 coil goes to the upper front housing..

I tried switching them and it has a mis then..

not only that but they are backwards on the rack to

on my 86 base the t1 is closest to the strut tower and the t2 coil is closest to the firewall...

on this 89 thesy are reversed

any insight?

normally the corresponding coils will have "L" or "T" on them, i dont recall if it was like a small sticker or what but thats how my friends TII coils are; the "L" and "T" are raised. and IIRC the trailing is to the rear of the bay and the Leading is at the front

I've got an 88, and it's the same as yours. T1 is closer to the wheel well, and T2 is close to the firewall. If they are factory plug wires, they should have the little white dot on them to indicate T1.

no I know which is which but I am wondering why they are not the same as my 86

trailing plugs on top, leading plugs on bottom

rotor housing 1 is front of engine rotor housing 2 is rear of engine..

the coils say T1 and T2 on them but they are backwards compared to my 86 in relation to where they are mounted on the fender
