coil question

i know that with normal piston engines, the distributor cap and rotor need to be changed, but is it the same with the leading and trailing coils on the rx-7s? i bought my car about 6 months ago and dont know if they are still the orginal coils. the car has 150,000 miles with a rebuilt enginge with 50,000 miles on it. just wondering what to do.

If they are firing you do nothing. With a distributor you donot replace the coil unless it goes bad do you ? You replace the cap and rotor. Do replace the spark plug wires every 40 K miles or as needed .I will not tell you to replace the plugs you know that much.
