coil overs will not go low enuf!

hey i have a question i just got new suspension for my fc. the lowst i could get on the rears the gards sat about 70mm abouve the tire 225/45/17 on 17x9 18p. i put the bottom body bit that winds up the strut as far up as it can go and the spring as low as it can go its still captive and evry thing but ther is no more room for ajustment. i jst want it so much lower what do i do get the struts shortend or softer longer/shorter springs and cut the bottom body bit that winds up and down?????
here is a link to the coil overs i got

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-...-422426065.htm

see if you can force the spring perch's up a bit more compressing the spring, and bring the body all the way up. it might help you out a little

I've never heard of these... They kind of remind me of cheap eBay coilovers.

Buy shorter springs and swap them in. I'd suggest going to a slightly stiffer spring because you are decreasing your suspension travel. How much is anybody's guess since it depends on the damping. 10/8 is very stiff for FC coilovers.

Wow I'm surprised how little adjustment there is on those things. Try to return them?

haha sorry about the last post i just read it :S so wind the base down to allow the spring to wind down more?
with the base right up there is no room for the the spring to adjust down only up then ofcourse the spring starts to compress and the spring is just captive as it sits now.
to pass cert/wof in nz they have to be captive (have no movement up and down)

You can try taking the lower locking ring out and spinning the rear mount up to the spring locking ring and locking the mount with that one and let the spring sit on that. Wont get you much(maybe 1/4" but right now it sounds like you need to get all you can. As far as compressing the springs to move the mount up higher, thats find just dont go nuts to the point where you can hit coil bind.

that a good idea! and the base is as far up as it can go. it cant go any higher no matter how far you wind the sring up

think of it like this, cranking up on the base locks will put more spring tension on the spring, it will not really lower the vehicle much because the springs have more pre-tension on them.

it does really rely on how much adjustability there is on the travel for the locks and the overall spring height though, if you lower the locks to the bottom position yet there is still a little bit of tension on the spring still then you are **** out of luck and need shorter springs.

yeah that did nothing but raise it up a bit. going to get some keeper springs and cut 3/4 inch of the base and see how lower it will sit

They look like the cheap 500$ ones Godspeed project sells. After several bad experiences with Godspeed i try to keep my distance. Could've gotten some BC racing for the same price.

Do you like them so far?... Not a lot of people buy cheap coilovers, and a lot of people aren't willing to buy them just to see how long they'll last. Let us know how long they last... I am just curious. How many miles do you have on them right now? And what type of driving do you most commonly do?

hey bud they are brand new they havnt seen any miles yet lol i really do like them for the price they are great! nice welds etc. the fronts are perfect i really should take some photos to show the how it sits the base has no bottom so you can set it to what ever height you want. i built the car for the street weekend and time attack but really there is about 10 race tracks in nz lol so its basically a street car set up for track and gas is 2.06nzd a litre lol so it will not get used very often
main reason for buying them is my cuscos where shot and all rusted up and couldnt afford good ones

Removed the middle lock ring, and let the Spring sit on the upper ring, and pad. And set the ring to touch the lower mount.
