Code 02 - Crank Angle Sensor (Ne signal)

What does this mean? Could it explain the tap sound when the car is running? It sounds more like something outside tapping tho and its not always consistent but does seem to change with RPM's.

Thanx anyone for your help.

Go to page F1-22 in the FSM Fuel Systems chapter and follow the instructions for trouble-shooting this code.

I can't see how an electrical problem with the CAS could cause a noise.

Did all that, thats how I know what the problem is, and I checked the Ne terminals per FSM and they are good. I need to track down continuity between the plug and the ECU now... WOO HOOO
