Clutch slipping at high rpm

So I brought this on myself and I realize that, but didnt really expect it for whatever reason. I reused the Exedy clutch that was in the car when I got it, supposedly the car had 5k miles on it when he parked it for 3 years before I picked up the car. So naturally with a seemingly brand new clutch I just put it back in. Now with a BNR stage 3 pushing ~11-12lbs of boost on wastegate beyond like 4k rpm full throttle it feels like the clutch slips, the revs climb in a seeming natural fashion (not super fast like the rear tires start spinning or the clutch is just given up) but the speed just isnt there. Top of 2nd and Im at like 45-50 rather than 60ish. So while having a car that over powers a clutch sounds like fun and a cool problem to have I now have to drop some cash.

I usualy prefer the Exedy clutches but the Stage 1 HD says its only good for 310 ft-lbs of torque. Seems like most people on here recommend the ACT which the one Im looking to buy says its good to 440 ft-lbs so I know for certain it will be more than enough. My question is does anyone have experience with the Exedy Stage 1 HD clutch and about what they are usually good for.

i doubt the SS ACT would slip on you with a stage 3, but if you want to be certain than a sprung puck would be more insurance. i never had problems with the ACT units until into the 400whp range, which your turbo isn't really capable of.

Yea I don't expect it to make much more than 350 wheel if it reaches that at all. I'm just kinda brand loyal to Exedy usually but it doesnt look like I can get at clutch that will hold up to it without spending over $1k. Ill end up ordering the ACT today at some point probably.

I gotta say you have been a huge help in all my questions so far in the few threads I've posted. Honest answers without any attitude you usually get from experienced forum users. I really appreciate everything.

well, if you could find an exedy twin disc, that would hold up until the transmission explodes.

ACT has always been my preference though, they just work. but the real high end exedy stuff isn't anything to scoff at if you need something really grippy, but a lot of $$.
