a clutch question, opinions please

if anyone here has the ACT 6-puck clutch and pressure plate, please post your reaction to the feel of the clutch.

I have mine in now, and I don't know if it needs to be broken in.. at very low speeds (when I'm slipping the clutch bigtime) the tranny shudders quite a bit. it grabs really well though, and has no feeling of slippage whatsoever otherwise. I have the stock flywheel.

any experiences like mine?

if its new you are supposed to break it in for 500 miles or regular stop and go traffic....no racing.

Actually you don't ever have to break in a 6 puck clutch...Dual friction clutches yes, but not that ACT 6 pucker

I havent pesonally, but I know someone who has it. He said that you really cant slip the clutch at all (the puck clutches werent really make to slip anyway..) and that it took him a few days to re-learn how to drive it. He said that hw would either like almost stall or chirp the tires when pulling out. Try not to slip it as much as possable, its hard on that clutch and especially the PP.

you're absolutely right; I almost have to relearn using the clutch. i.e. I have to lose my bad habit of riding the clutch pedal too often.

I'll bet my shot motor mounts don't help the vibration situation!

I say they are terrible for all around street use. The driveline will take a beating.
