Question clutch question

i am looking into buying a 86 gxl. it starts up and idles great. couple things the clutch pedal will not spring back.. the spring is present. i tried looking under my 88 vert to see if i could see how it pulled back but i cant figure it out. the spring does the same thing in both cars, only mine has no problems.. the (rod) the clutch pedal pushes in to the slave cyl? is sort of soft. not has tough to push in as in my vert is this from a non-bleeded slave cyl? or a bad one with in itself. all the linkage seems to be there but the pedal does not return by itself.. any help thanks

hydraulics are bad. You might get by just bleeding them. But, eventually you will have to replace.
