clutch problems

on a long drive today ... after about 100 miles in some decent heat, i noticed my clutch wasnt working... . the pedal feels normal, but getting in gear required perfect revmatching, and starting from a standstill became an act of brute force.

what needs replacing?

The pedal felt fine? No loss of hydraulic pressure at all?

Check the pressure plate and/or pilot bearing.

what do you mean by an act of brute force?
you had to jam it in gear grinding some syncromesh on the way?

did it feel like the clutch was engaged the whole time? (by the sounds of the revmatching comment I am guessing yes but asking anyway)

does the clutch slip? is it stock? how old is it?

is you fluid right up?

clutch feels normal, but the symptoms are that it isnt disengaging. once i force the tranny into gear, itll idle with the clutch out w/o dropping revs or moving the car. its weird.

could just be an old clutch.. but it hasnt been slipping..

slave cylinder. Have someone push the clutch in and out while you look under the hook to see if it's moving (located ontop of the transmission housing)
