clutch pedal freeplay

i drive a 87 n/a
i just had the master and slave cylinders replaced along with a new clutch.
But ive just noticed my clutch pedal has no freeplay in it, isnt it suppose to have at least a 1/2 inch of freeplay in it. The clutch engages and disengages perfect but im scared im might be causing some damage to the throw out bearing if there is no freeplay.

anyone have suggestions? anybody have no freeplay like mine with no problems or should i adjust it as soon as possible. also if i do need to adjust it is thereanyone that knows how or do i have to pull the tranny?

there is a 12 mm nut behind the pedal, near top, loosen that and turn the shaft until you have free play, lock up nut and start car up and see if u can shift into gears, if you cant, adjust it back up you went too far, way too much play, the clutch didnt disengage.

no freeplay can POSSIBLE mean you are riding your clutch 24/7, good way to send clutch and bearing to hell, actually i dont know about that but that what it seems like to me when i had no play in the clutchie. my clutch would burn up at 6.8k rpm.... talk about smell of terror, now i adjusted it and drove it around for a while it holds to 9, i dont drive to 9 very often though... stay at 8...

turn shaft counter clock wise to make free play, clock wise to take up free play. dont go too far check with one hand turn with another.
