Clutch pedal clicking when pressed

Hey all. I have developed a problem that I can not put a finger on. Each and every time I press the clutch pedal I can hear a clicking sound. The pedal feels normal, and it operates properly when driving, but this issue happens with the car both on and off. I've replaced both the master and slave clutch cylinders a while back but this only started happening recently. What could it be? Has anyone run in to the same problem? Thanks.

Spray lube where rod meets clutch fork.

There's also a rubber stopper for the interlock switch at the top of the clutch pedal. It deteriorates over time and crumbles apart. Check that if the sound is coming from inside the cabin.

I had the same problem as JLa describes - the rubber stopper that the switch presses had fallen apart, and the plunger of the switch was sliding across the metal and falling into the hole in the pedal arm as it was released, then bending sideways a little and popping out as the pedal was pressed, making a nice loud "click" each time.

I stuck a panel fastener that was the right size in the hole to give the switch something to hit & to plug the hole - it's been working fine for the past 2 yrs

I did the same exact thing except I glued a piece of rubber to the panel fastener to retain the stock pedal height.

I relocated the interlock switch and turned it into a kill switch. Nothing but some double sided tape required

The kill switch is not a bad idea, but that'd be something I'd add somewhere else.

I'd say keep the interlock switch and add the rubber.

This post remind me of when I would do starter kill switches for customers vehicles using a relay activated by the cigarette lighter. Car wouldn't start unless you pushed in the cigarette lighter.

I also experienced interior clicking when using the clutch pedal. The contact point for the clutch switch plunger had failed as many others in this thread have experienced. My "temp" fix was to clean the surface opposite the plunger and place a thick double sided tape on it. I only exposed the adhesive on one side of the tape.

The "temp" fix has been there for four years. There is a small depression in the middle of the tape where the plunger contacts it that developed when test fitting. The depression has not grown since.
