Clutch packs - Lsd

Ended up buying the limited slip unit off of a friend which had already been torn down. When I went to reassemble the unit and place it in my diff, I realized I didn't know which way the clutch packs go.

The wear spots on the spring and the spider gear hub show the clutches with outer prongs on the outsides of the clutches with the inner prongs.

The pdf from mazdaspeed's site shows them staggered.

Can anyone tell me which way this goes back together. I have it assembled like the first example as I was going off the wear marks.

Have you looked in the factory service manual? I believe there are detailed LSD rebuild instructions in it.
