Exclamation clutch noise

I put in a stage 3 clutch and light wieght flywheel. (12 lbs and counterweight) and It seems that everytime i pull out at higher rpms It sounds like the clutch is just spinning but no engaging but it pulls out. does anyone know what that noise is? I mean It sounds bad. And when i'm in a high gear at low rpms and I let my turbo spool it sounds like grinding metal or maybe my turbine is about to blow out or something. If anyone could help me that would be great. Oh yeah I forgot something. Does anyone know if mk1 is a good brand? I'm not sure so i thought i'd ask before i bought anything.

if your turbine is about to go you should be able to pop your hood after dark and see it throwing sparks and your clutch sounds like it might have a broken rivet or something to that effect

Your throw-out bearing may be bad. Or any one of the other 2.

I've been having the same problem with my 89 GTU, minus the spooling noise of course.

Supposedly a 4 puck clutch and lightweight flywheel in the car, I'm inclined to believe that because of the ridiculously short/tight clutch engagement on the car. Makes a horrible screeching/grinding sound, but doesn't slip at all, it still has a nice quick engagement. The sound is embarassing at stop lights and in the school parking lot though. Doesn't do it all the time.
