Arrow clutch makin NOISES......

whenever my cluth is released i can actually here it making a humming sorta noise from under the hood area...and as i pop in the clutch u can here the gears gradually slow down then come to a stop...

so i just wanna know is this normal? im assuming its not......could it be that the clutch is goin out? **** i hope not

it could be the through out bearing if its kind of a whirling noise. thats what my 88 does. i havn't replaced it because i dont feel like dropping the tranny, and there is another rx-7 in the only flat spot of my driveway haha.

It sounds like the throw out bearing to me, might as well change the clutch while you're at it.

whirling noise?
happens when you press down the pedal or not pressed down?

if you hear it at first, then press down on the pedal and hear it slow down and leave... that would mean input shaft worn...

if you dont heart it at first, then hear it when you press down the pedal, then it would mean the throw out bearing, or pilot bearing, or both.

so how hard is the input shaft to fix?? and is it bad on the car to run it like how it is for awhile?

I had a friend who's clutch making noises and when he changed his tranny fluid there were metal shavings in his tranny fluid.

well if thats the case....yeah that would suck.....i dont think thats it though......i dunno just doesnt make sense....what SLPIN sed so far makes most sense from what i hear going on..
