Question Clutch Kit for 13B-RE?

needing to upgrade my clutch n pressure plate, and need to know the type of clutch kit that i would be needing for this swap. i've seen act and centerforce, but which do i get? i plan on ditching the stock twins and going single next year. some of the kits i've seen do not include the Throwout Bearing. is there a complete kit? this is for a 10ae, and i already have the fd flywheel.

Diddy, I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, so if not, please forgive me...

There is not a special kit for the 13b-RE. You simply need to buy a clutch kit for whatever tranny you are using. So if you're using a Turbo tranny, get a clutch kit for that.

If you're asking what kit is the best, then I have no idea and sorry for muddying up your thread. It seems like there has been quite a bit of discussion on this though, so you might just do some clever searches for aftermarket clutches or something.

Agreed^^. Apparantly, from what I've read carbon/carbon clutches are good, harsh engagement, but u get used to it, and when u slip it, it grips better. =)

Actually wrong...
Carbon-carbon discs actually give more progressive engagement over most of the "cerarimetallic" and puck discs.

Downside?
Single carbon-carbon clutch kits are like $1,500!

I hope you are not implying that your 10AE has stock twins.

Just get a simple ACT street/strip clutch with one of any available lightweight flywheels and ththe respective counterweight. Racing Beat, Mazdatix, SR Motorsports etc. Any of these places will have everything you need as a complete kit or by piecing it together. The stock fd flywheel will not work in your application as the rotors are different weights. If you want an aftermarket flywheel, you will need the appropriate counterweight with it as the lightweight flywheels do not incorporate that into their design as does the stock flywheel.

In any case, I have had two bad experiences with CF clutches in my old muscle car days. They're claim of increaseed clamping force is pure gimmick bs if you ask me. I'd rather just have increased clamping force through the entire rpm range.
