Unhappy Clutch blew up today

Okay so my car has been running for maybe three months since I did the auto to manual swap. I driving along today, pull out of a parking lot rev it up to maybe 6800 and BAM, tires lock up, motor dies, and clank clank clank slowly come to a stop at a red light. *****. Just barley got it started throught the intersection, kinda using the starter to get through it. Pull over and started crying like a little girl j/k. Anyway just thought I would share a bad experience I had today. I guess thats what you get when you buy a $15 clutch disc from AutoZone. Time to start upgrading, But honey I need the lightweight flywheel and Centerforce Clutch. hehehe

Check out www.capclutch.com. Cheap, very good upgrade, and I love mine! Good luck!

I checked out the www.capclutch.com, seems like a good deal. Which clutch did you get? Doe anyone have/ or have heard anything about Centerforce? Yeah the clutch I HAD sucked real bad. I broke it in for about 500 miles, going real easy on it. The first time I dumped the clutch at 6000rpm, it started slipping a progressively gotten worse until today.

centerforce is garbage. i never heard of capclutch. i would go with ACT or Clutchmasters. 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for....

I have heard some bad stories about Centerforce from some of my friends, I am going with an ACT clutch.

I have the CAP high performacne clutch. Takes a while to work in. VERY GOOD FOR THE DOLLAR. one of the best deals out there. Im happy so far, im putting a new master cylinder in tonight and if thats what I think is wrong with my clutch system then I will be able to really tell you how good this clutch is because right now I can barely shift.

Can you CONFIRM it was the clutch disc design or if it was a bad pilot bearing or a crappy install???

Centerforce=crap

go with an ACT. I just picked up my heavy duty pressure plate and clutch disk. Together they cost $350, and they come with 2 cool stickers (they go in engine bay, not on car). It look of very good quality, and I will be throwing more than 400hp through, so I am very sure they are tough.

Yeah either the ACT or the CapClutch. Hopefully I can get it shipped over night, need my car bad, wifey gets pissed when it isn't running. Ok one more thing, Can anyone recommend a good and inexpensive, if there is such a thing, lightened flywheel. Hopefully I won't need one but just in case it's trashed too. Thanks in advance

wow, you write beautifully. I felt as if I was right there while all this happened. Not to mention this story is funny as **** (buying a $15 disc and crying like a girl )

NOTE: do NOT buy Centerforce Clutch, it is an equivalent to a $30 clutch disc

I see you decided against centerforce, good decision.

the words "good and inexpensive" don't go well together. Try browsing the racing beat site (they have a nice flywheel).
