Which Clutch?

I need to know what clutch would be better for me. This will be going in my 88 RX7 N/A that I drive everyday. I also will be going to autocrosses sometimes so I want one that will hold up and be the best for my application.

ACT 4-Puck clutch for 86-92 Non-Turbo RX-7

The ACT clutches are one of the most popular choices for the RX-7. The Racing 4-Puck (ZX2-HDR4) clutch has an upgraded Street Disk with Heavy Duty Pressure Plate over the factory clutch. The HD improved disk and pressure plate provides a new torque capacity of up to to
343 ftlbs, and the pressure increase being 34%. This kit comes with all the bearings needed to replace the clutch.

Price: $ 275.00

ACT Street - Strip clutch for 86-92 Non-Turbo RX-7

The HD improved disk and pressure plate provides a new torque capacity of up to to 268 ftlbs, and the pressure increase being 34%. This kit comes with all the bearings needed to replace the clutch.

Both Clutches are from www.rx7trix.com

Anyone know where I can get the better of the two somewhere else for cheaper?

Thanks

I sure wish that I had asked the ? that you are asking.

First off, don't get the 4/6 puck clutch b/c you are not a full time racer. Some people may drive it on the street but it is not the best.

The ACT SS clutch I just had installed about 2 months ago. Hate It!!!
Low speed engagement is horrible. It shakes my whole drivetrain.
With my stock flywheel it make a chirping squeaking noise when I am releasing the clutch. It makes me want to shoot myslef and is god-awfully annoying. I know people hear from outside the car. The more load there is on the car (like a hill) the worse the noise.
I wish I had gone with PR Motorsports recommendation and kept the stock clutch. STUPID STUPID STUPID

I vote Street strip. The 4 puck is a really not accommodating with everyday use. With either one, I would suggest SS clutch line, and keep an eye out for cylinder demise if old. Just the nature of the higher pressure can cause havoc with old equipment.
