Question Clogged Fuel Filter

My na FC is detonating really bad at wot above 4000-4500 rpm and up. It seems ok at 3/4 throttle but more than that over 4k and it starts to make some strange noise until it finally starts pinging like ****. The noise sounded like blocked Cats but after make sure there were minimal obstructions in the first two Cats the problem continues. Just wondering if anyone has experinced a similar problem due to a clogged fuel filter?

Thanks in advance

You can also get a good Purolator fuel filter for like $25 at Pep Boys. Goes right in like OEM and works great.

You can get a genuine Mazda filter for $24 you click on one of the links UP above.

I got one from autozone for <$20.

Check your timing, switch gas stations and run super/premium until you solve your problem.

OK

Yeah, I'm going to change the filter after work tonight and I'll post results. I was trying to find out if anyone else had this problem and fixed it this way in advance. . Thanks for the suggestions on where to buy a good filter at a low price. I got a Wix filter for 28 bucks.
