Clocks Cold solder joint
Where would it most likely be (i'm assuming that is what's wrong with my clock. it fits all descriptions i've read about it)?
symptoms: clock is fickle and will come on some times then go away for no reason. will be dim sometimes, will be normal others. won't come on some days, will come on others. (however it never resets. It will keep track of time even if it doesn't display it)
guess: i'm thinking that it's just either a) a bad solder point or b) a loose power connection to it. all the warning lights function (at least i assume so because they tell me when my trunk is open and door is ajar, etc.)
the previous owner was trying to get to it some how and royal screwed up the plastic piece there which I have recently replaced. I do know how to solder but i'm trying to arrange my schedule in such a way as I will be able to bang it out in about 20-30 minutes tops. also could some one please tell me what other tools i'll need to do it (i already know i'll need the given solder gun and de-solder iron), such as a multi-meter or anything else?
Thanks in advanced.

Your bump has been deleted, Bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd.
You need to re-solder the connections where the pins meet the circuit board for the idiot light panel. You must remove the old solder first before flowing new solder in.
Other than a pick and screw driver, there should be no other tools needed than the soldering iron and solder sucker/desoldering tools.
