MB Clock in 88 convertible

I just bought a 88 Vert and the clock does not work
How do I get the panel out to replace it? Or what could be the problem?

pry gently on the front of the plastic surround piece with a flathead screw driver and remove it first. there are a couple bolts or screws holding the idiot light cluster in, i forget which.

^ Yeah key word being gently. I cracked mine all to hell the first time I did it. Just something to watch out for.

Cold solder joints in the clock and/or broken copper traces. Mine was broken traces and had to jumper wire inside the unit. Get an ohm meter and test all the connections once you get this thing out and apart.

You are on the right path. Good luck.

Edit: This is a great opportunity learn something new if you haven't done it before.
