Clicking noise from brakes

For some reason sometimes when I brake kinda hard a clicking noise comes from one of the brakes. Not sure if its the brake or something on my suspension. But it sounds almost like something is shifting or something it only comes from one but I can't tell exactly where it is coming from. Anybody know what this might be???

I have it, too. So does my boss, who drives a Mazda B2200 pickup (gutless POS - the truck, not the boss ) But his 'knock' feels different from mine. I've heard that it's a not uncommon thing on Mazdas. And I've read somewhere that it could be loose calipers. I haven't had time to dig into mine yet. My mechanic also suggested that the brake booster could be fubar/malfunctioning. Haven't had time to swap that out, either...

How nearly helpful, eh?

I had a noise like that.

My daily 87 N/A had a clicking/clunking noise comming from the right rear tire a while ago, I could not narrow the noise down till I did some hard braking under a bridge with my windows down & stereo off. I went home popped that tire off and DOA! one of the only 2 bolts that hold the upper brake caliper on had snapped! I was pissed, thats dangerous ****.. I replaced the snapped bolt haven't heard anything since .. Not sure is thats your problem, but well worth checking it.

Could be wheel bearings.

check your suspension for loose/missing chassis bolts.
