Cleaning stock wheels

What is the best thing to use for cleaning phonedials off an 86, theyre not the polished pohnedials. I got these wheels for realy cheap, but theyre dirty as hell. Back to my question, What would work the best for cleaning these up?

Thanks

SOS/brillo/steel wool is your friend.. on painted wheels (like on my 10ae) green scrubbies work really well.

Yeah a green scurbby thing, or steel wool, and using some Brake Parts Cleaner may help break down some of the dirt and crap build up. That stuff works real well for cleaning up parts that have lots of dirty crap build up on them.

Can you use brillo/steel wool on the Vert BBS wheels? Mine have these black dots all over them.

yeah, my questions is the same as croffeyc, would it be safe or dangerous to use brillo on "vert" wheels? I normally just use a soft sponge but some of the gunk doesnt like to come off...

Try foaming bathroom cleaner and a piece of fleece. If that doesn't do it, try the bathroom cleaner and the steel wool. I used steel wool on my exhaust tips... Let me get a pic for you.

You can really see the difference it made...

So just brillo pads? Thats my best bet? What about tile cleaner or bathroom cleaner? Any chance gojo or lan-lin will clean it up?
