It has a layer of tar looking crap buildup.
Does it have to sealed after cleaning.
If not sealed it can leak and rust?

wouldnt the premix help with rust?

the joints on the tank are bent(just like the soda can) so i dont see how it can leak.

i havent seen rust, just 2mm crap builup layer.

i searched google for cleaning solvents. i cant use coustic soda also.
But i never asked what solvent to use to clean the tank.

 

That's what I thought. I have a bottle of vodka in my fridge and I would kinda hate to waste it on cleaning my gas tank out lol. Thanks

talking about the outside of the tank? for the inside get 2 jugs of clr and dump in there. then top it off with distilled water. wait 2-4 days and drain. make the inside sparkle.

 

Most degreasers will do the job. Remove the tank, clean it out thoroughly with the degreaser and water. Companies like POR-15 make tank coatings you can use if you have pinhole leaks.

 

to clean the inside of a tank all you need is a good amount of gas in the tank and a small propane torch! jk
