Clean running FC?

I always see threads about people not being able to pass emissions for one reason or another. Usually around the time i need to go for inspection i get scared about whether or not i'll be able to pass but i always get along just fine......

My s4 is pretty stock besides corksport oil cooler lines and hks silent hi power exhaust, why do our cars have a bad rep of failing emissions? Is it because 90% of us remove emissions setup and go straight pipe?

Discuss.

because theres alot of poor FC owners who skip on proper maintenance and cant afford to properly keep it up. Than theres the hot rod crowd.

Hypertek, I have always loved your 7, rocking the primered look. But, I have to say your ride is looking even more amazing in white, awesome job.

I thought I posted a reply but it didn't go through I guess.

I've seen people recommending to run a hose from the air pump directly to the split air pipe. My guess is to help the cat run hotter at idle and burn gases more efficiently. Anyone else have any input on this?

the ACV doesn't work when the car gets older, and nobody seems to be able to figure out how to fix it?

my 74k 87 passed with like 4hc's and 0 co... on 12 year old fuel.... all i did was make sure the ACV worked, and drove it over there

these cars can run very clean, when the emissions stuff is working

Stock system in working order will pass every time.

I passed (after 5 TRIES) using a cat I bought off a forum member, a corvette air-pump, a little alcohol in the tank, locking the timing at 0 degrees (I have a standalone computer), and an extremely patient mechanic whom is also my brother in law

My '87 passed with very low numbers once I got the vacuum hoses routed correctly and replaced every intake gasket and O-ring. It's bone stock NA except for the K&N filter and Borla exhaust.
