circuit opening relay question

I am currently in a heap of electrical mess. I am trying to "trick" the circuit opening relay that I still have an AFM but the problem is that I do not have the wiring harness other then what is cut off at the passagners side.

I have rewired my fuel pump so the fuel pump resistor is no longer there but I still have my circuit opening relay. so should I try and track down the brown wire that originally came from the AFM and just ground it?

PS if the fuel pump is on constantly its ok right?

:::EDIT:::

since I have removed my pump resistor I can manually apply a test lead to the wire and the pump will come on. Car use to run

Put everything down until you have a good harness and ecu/standalone IMO. Until then all your doing is messing up your car asking for trouble. IE electrical fire. Just do it the RIGHT WAY or you will be dealing with issues till you do it right, and the car will be worth alot less if the wiring is all chopped up and fucked. Just my opinion.

So do you have an aftermarket EMS or what? If you do, wire the pump up as per their instructions. The resistor relay and circuit opening relay are not usually used. The circuit opening relay is relaced with a new relay controlled by the EMS.
