cig lighter electric problem?

cig lighter doesnt work. how to fix this problem, i do not know. need help.

From: Smiths Falls.(near Ottawa!.Mapquest IT!)
Use a ZIPPO!..check the fuse or Take the surround off and check the connector on the Lighter Case.Also check your Lighter filament..(on the lighter Part,itself,see if that is burnt out.)

oh, could that also be it? the filment is burt out and it doesnt fully have a coil..im assuming that wouldnt matter..i held it down yet it didnt even get warm.

i checked the back to see if it was pluggd in..that was ok. fuse seems fine.
