Are chips ripoffs?
I was browsing ebay for performance parts and I ran across these "chips" that claim to squeeze up to an extra 15 hp out of your engine. They're only like 30 bucks.
Here's an example of one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AWNA%3AMT%3A12
I'm skeptical. Has anyone tried anything like this? Im curious to hear about your results.
I'm aware of changing the ECU or getting a piggy back, both of which can be quite costly, but also seem more likely to produce results.

That is a pot in a box that goes inline with the IAT sensor, 2.50$ worth of parts from an electronics shop, well 4.00$ if you add a project box i guess.
