chip number inside your f-con

Anybody out there able to open their f-con and tell me which chip you have? I bought a pfc f-con from a guy on this site and assumed it was for a turbo 2 as that was how he advertised it. I called HKs after receiving it to verify that it was but was told by them that the chip inside was for a MIATA. the guy I bought the thing from swears it worked in his car. who should I belive, him or HKS? I think the latter. HKS says the chip # for a turbo 2 with stock turbo should be E 190 and E140 for bigger turbo or vise versa.

thanks for the help

I'm pretty sure there are 4 Fcon chips. both S4 and S5 stock turbo and bigger turbo.

so yours might be one of the 2 he didn't tell you.

if the harness plug on it is the same as yours. it's probabably fine.

Actually according to their website, the stock turbo number should be E149, I need to pull off the cover off mine and see what it is, I'll do that tomorrow

Well you should put it in and see what it does....Guess and test....Einstein didnt find the correct materials to make the right light bulb on his first try....anyways if it wasnt for your car....its probably not going to work....its not like its gonna change your whole system into running like a miata

i saw a hks fcon for sale. had a picture of the circuit board and had a white label on one of the black chips that says d104. i don't know if that's the actual chip # but he's selling it for s5 t2s. i'm thinking about buying it, but i need to know if the fuel cut denfenser is inside the fcon or would i need to buy one for it. for running stock s5 turbo and 2.5" free flow exhaust and hks power flow filter, would this be a good mod because it's not too high priced.

Sorry guys, wrong info. After checking inside the f-con again, the number on the chip is E104.

And again, I spoke with techs at HKS that told me the correct chip number is NOT e104!

I'm not going to "TRY" the thing with the wrong chip inside. I've got too much at stake here
