Checking fuel pump voltage.
Hello, I just became the owner of an 86 Sport. The car had been sitting for a few years when a family member gave me the car. The fuel pump was rusted, so I ordered a new one. I checked the fuel pump voltage at the connector on the rear fender and read only like 250 millivolts. Is there something wrong? Any insight is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
The fuel pump has a safety circuit so it only runs if the engine is running or cranking.
There is an initial set plug near the air cleaner.
If you jumper it, the pump will run when the key is on.
I have a copy of the factory manuals at the link in my sig.

I forget the color (yellow or green), but it's a 2-wire female spade connector nearest the air cleaner.
It's described in the "fuel & emmissions" section of the manuals.
