I get like 13mpg... But if I had the cash, I'd buy it off him for maybe 8000, no more though.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't realize that was an "authorized aftermarket" thing Mazda did with Halmsersport. So I guess it's technically incorrect to say the front mount was stock. Anyways, it's still cool!
This dealer version did NOT offer any power upgrades per the article. Unless I read it wrong, the package included the paint/aero package, wheels/tires and some suspension upgrades. The upgraded turbo/fuel/electronics etc...were done by the owner of that car in the article.

I am not aware of any other kits similar to this. Most of the Mazda authorized aftermarket kits and products were sold through their Finish Line catalog.

Kenny Lew, the owner of the car, used to be on the FC list back in the day.

The car was basically a Mazda dealer special. The dealer had ties to Pete Halsmer, and decided to make a special edition. They took a stock white TurboII, did the paint job and rims, and added some aftermarket parts.

The car is a real Halsmersport. It did come with some decent mods from the get-go - Greddy intercooler, I think the Greddy turbo kit, exhaust, etc.

That car is just gorgeous - Kenny did a really nice job with it over the years, and it's very clean and well-done.

This car is very nice, and fast BUT the Haltech isn't tuned yet! I got the honor to drive it last weekend for a fellow that might be buying it. The car is gorgeous all around, inside and out. He spent bucks on the thing and really built it well. Onced it's tuned and boost creep problem goes away this car will be freakin glorious.

that car is sweet!
I was actually going to paint my 10AE like that to mimick the GTO car (the real race car), exept the real GTO had gold BBS wheels, which I'm having trouble finding. I never knew that paint scheme was a dealer add on. Cool!

Therefore, you GTUs and 10AE owners have no reason to be jealous, and you guys who think the owner destroyed or devalued the car can sleep at night knowing that he simply added more aftermarket products to the car.

BTW, I think the car looks pretty nice.
I love the tach/cluster too... anyone have a part # or a link to them to inquire about it?
