looks good. how much did they run you? are the housings made to be able to handle the hid bulbs so that you don't blind oncoming drivers?

The apc lights were like $25 a piece from pep boys or advance auto, to bad I had to go to 2 places to get them. everywhere only carry one of each.

Now the HIDs i have had for a while, I took them of my Subaru that i'mn selling now.

Not sure about the blinding issue or not but probally not, I blinded people all the time with them on the subaru. I fyou aim them a little lower than a normal bulb you won't blind people as much. Its not the actual light that blinds the drivers but the glare.

I got my fake HID/H4 kit for $40 on ebay. They look exactly like yours. I couldn't get the little blue bulb to fit the housing so i sealed off the hole. They fit and work but i had to readjust my headlight afterward because they were all crooked. Either way....stick with your headlights, some people can't tell the difference. I personally like mine, and i don't look forward to paying $800~$1,500 for a HID kit.

Believe me you can tell a real hid kit from a fake kit. Me personally sine I love to drive at night I want to be able to see everthing and with HIDs I can.

Also you can get the HID kits now for pretty cheap the last time I saw a kit going for about $350 on one webpage. And it was a good kit since it used Hella ballast and bulbs, just like my kit does.

Also another good ting about HIDS is the life of them are about 10 times that of a bulb. So you figure about $30 for your wannabe hid bulbs that are over watted which blow alot and times that by 10 and there you go you could have had the HIDS.

Also i forgot some other benefits from HIDS

They use less power than a regular bulb, they only use about 30 watts compare to a regular light that uses 55 watts or even 70 watts or more for the bright lights

They don't heat up hot, unlike your regular bulbs and with your high wattage bulbs that can melt your wires and even your light housings

Hmm thats interesting, I wonder why ive always heard that HID kits will be overwhelming to a stock electrical system of an older car such as ours. Also that they would take more power, becuase you have to add in converts to power them. Maybe thats a different HID kit? Or I could be just plain tired.

Yes, I have also heard that the ammount of energy required to run HID systems is lower. I dunno if it is true, but according to ImprezedRS it is, so good times always a good thing to know.

if you convert to hid's it would be a good idea to upgrade the fuse as well since more power could cause the fuse to blow. I was able to get some honda hid's for 250. s2k projectors have amazing light output.

startup amp draw for hid is slightly higher than standard halogen 55w bulbs, but running amp draw is much lower, if i recall correctly.

I was researching recently on the HID topic.

Turns out that the retorfit kits are 100% illegal. Putting a HID buld into a generic H4 (or any other housing) designed for "regular" lights completely screws up the optics and makes it blinding which is EXTREMELy dangerous.

Further, it said that this can also result in DECREASED visibility. The light is so bright on teh road in front of you that you think you are seeing better. In reality, the bright light causes your pupils to shrink therefor decrease your distance visibiliy....

THere are right ways and wrong ways to do this swap and unless you are paying the $$$'s for a kit that comes with both the lense and the bulb that are designed as HID.... it's the wrong way.

it's illegal to modify the stock lighting of any car so any conversion is. you can't be pulled over for it, but you can be ticketed for it.

I like the headlights in your avatar more than I like the ones in your RX-7. If you're going to go HID, go HID, don't go ganky.
