Mine does it when the car is a little warm (ie. past operating temp). It goes away when it cools back down. This is all read off my non-stock water temp gauge.
Other times it would respond to my accelerator. Everytime i let off it would come on, I think it was just looking to get pushed some more
With my new O2 sensor, most of the CEL's went away.
Just some food for thought. You can try and see if it registered a code (mine wouldn't always throw one under these conditions).

I think so. I think the CEL comes on whenever the ecu throws a code. To decipher the code, you can make a code checker using some simple parts from radio shack.
I can't find the page, but if you search im sure you can find it. The lights when hooked up (2 lights) blink in a specific series to identify a problem. REALLY usefull for finding a faulty sensor.
In the meantime, check all your wiring to your sensors in the car, make sure the harness's are attached etc and secure.

I had a similar problem in my old N/A FC. The engine light would flash but it wouldn't stay on and since it only flashed, when I checked the code, it wouldn't output anything. I have the sheet at home that tells you how to check the engine codes and what they mean. For me, when I was finally able to get a solid reading it was almost too late. My TPS was going and at first it was only acting up slightly, but once it finally went, the car was stuttering and stalling and flodding........what a @$#@$ mess.
I'll try and post the engine codes when I go home in a few days.
