check engine light switch

has anyone put their check engine light on a switch and/or know how?

my car runs fine but the check engine light is on and when i go for my emissions test it fails automaticly because of the light. im sure its running clean enough to pass since its still stock with a new cat and o2 sensor

i have till the end of the month to drive my car, since i cant pass the emissions test i have to run seasonal tags in which i cant drive the car between the months of october 1st to march 1st

You must have an S5, and if they're like the S4's, the ECU provides the ground for the light circuit. So, just find the wire at the ECU, get the little pin disconnect tool (or get creative) and pull the pin out of the plug. Reinstall after emissions....
