Check engine light and loss of power

Having a problem with my '90 GTU check engine light comes on and i lose power to my engine it sputters like it isnt getting enough of something, turn the ignition off and back on its fine again, already replaced O2 sensor still got a problems asking for advice before i start spending more money.

That sounds like my problem. The dealer says it needs an oil metering pump (OMP). Actually it's an electric OMP which is a LOT more expensive in RX-7s newer than 1988, new: $1500 non-dealer or $2200 from the dealer. Everybody seems to think I should be able to get a used one that's a LOT LESS expensive, but they're hard to find.

1988 and older models had a mechanical OMP, which is more reliable and a lot less expensive (oh well).

yeah it does sound like an OMP issue. You can hook up the S4 OMP wich is mechanical and is rare for one to fail. I do know that the S4 OMP will not be a drop in and there is some mods needed for it to work right. All I can say is search and you will find it.
