check engine light after few minutes of driving and car goes limp

First off coolant is leaking in the engine bay, but is that enough to turn on the check engine light?? The waste bin for the coolant goes from full to empty and I refill it. (I'm taking it to the mechanic sat.) When the check engine light comes on the car's throttle goes limp. If I step on the gas pedal more than 10% the car will not respond. I also noticed that the oil pressure doesn't hit the usual 60psi. It goes to about 45 at max. (idles at 20) Is this because of the check engine light? I tried pulling the code by grounding the one pin green plug, but every time I turn the car off the check engine light will turn off. I have to be driving the car. Then after a min the check engine light will turn on and the car go into limp mode. Any thing I should know or keep in mind while I get the coolant leak problem fixed??

More than likely, you're OMP has failed. It's failure mode causes the car to enter limp mode. Check the OMP per the FSM and you should be able to figure out what's going on.
