I have an 87' N/A with a stage 2 D/F centerforce clutch and a new TB. I have had it in for about a month now it is make a chattering noise in teh lower gears when the clutch pedal is not depressed. What could this be?

Are you sure it's the clutch, or is it the transmission? Does the clutch engage smoothly?

I get a similar thing, though seems more noticeable in certain gears. I assumed it was the tranny, which is a little noisy anway. Happens most for me with the engine loaded up but not yet boosting... other noise gets a bit dimmed once it's on boost

well, i think it is the tranny. It does it more so in teh lower gears and then at idle then anything. It also seems that when I go form 2nd to 3rd it wants to just slips outof gear. I mean it shifts ok but as soon as I pull it away form second it just sorta jerks the tranny a little. Is it just old? I was going to get a tII one soon or rebuild?

Isn't their a thread just like this in the same damn section?

The chatter is typical in 2nd gens @ idle. i just ignored it.
Seems to me like the clutch and flywheel cause the chatter.

Are you sure you replaced the throw out bearing at the same time as the clutch???

But yeah it also sounds like some worn gears or syncros
