Lightbulb Chassis Harness Problem

okay so i have had problems with chassis harness' on my fc before all because i want my fogs and power windows to work, but anywho here is the situation. I installed a claimed to be "perfectly working chassis harness" on my fc. The engine is out along with the engine harness. Is it possible to see if the electrical part of my car works for example, fogs, windows, lights, turn signals etc etc. Right now i got a new battery for my car it was under warranty so it was free and connected my alternator. Went inside but nothing happened. Turned the key no signs of current running through the engine for example the idiot cluster turning on, door lights on because the door was open. So my question is can i check if the electrical part of my car works without having the engine & engine harness installed? if so how? any feedback would help thanks

The EM (you call it the Engine harness, not I), harness has zip to do with the rest of the car. Same thing with the ECU.

So if the key is put to ON, things should work But first I'd make sure the battery negative harness is bolted to it's place at the bottom of the left front strut tower and that the other end of that cable is bolted to a transmission/engine bolt (not really required for what your doing, but I'd probably do it anyway (no accounting for some of the things I do/ don't do).

If nothing happens with key to ON, I'd pull the connectors off the ignition key harness. The plug there that has a black/white and and black wire in it. Then check the BLACK wire for batt voltage. IF it's not there , then the Main fuse is blown or the connector b/t the engine bay fuse box and the ignition switch is disconnected.

The Black wire feeds the ignition switch and if the key is to ON, feeds the IG1 and IG2/ACC row of fuses in the interior fuse box.

Don't expect the warning lights to light up if the alternator isn't connected up. Won't happen, Can't happen.

The large output wire of the alternator needs to be kept from shorting to any bare metal when you put the battery in the car. If it touches gnd it will blow the EGI and probably the main fuse. Just put some duct tape over it.
