changed tranny car wont start HELP!!

hello just changed out the tranny in my 88 rx7, and now the car starts revs up to 3k and then tries to go back down to idle but studders and turns off.

The only issue he have seen is that there is this black little box behind the clutch master that fell off its wire. (picture below)

What is it? It looks like its a ground resistor? Please need help ASAP.

Thanks.

Please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section. It covers many of the commonly asked questions such as the one about the condensor in this thread.

The little black box as you call it is the condensor. The condensor is used by the oil pressure sender. You need it for the oil pressure gauge to read correctly. Of course you would have found that upon reading the FAQ for FC sticky trhead found at the top of this, the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section.

Studdering and dieing suggests a major vac leak. Did you leave something underhood disconnected, such as any of the intake ducts???
