change out interior color???

change out interior color???

Is it possible to change out the whole interior color scheme? my color is the blue velour and I want it all black inside. Can that be done?

yes it can be done if you find the black interior piece, best place to look is at the junk yard.

my ashtray was fading yellowish for some reason so i just took some spray paint and painted it black it looks great, just a thought , im pretty sure you can get paint to make the carpet change colors

ebay is pretty much the only place your going to find black interior for it.... and its pretty expensive, i like the blue... bout the only color that looks like crap is the red interior...

Some fabric dye like RIT might work the fabric.

You can do it. If you want to do it right you are going to have to replace all of the trim pieces, the dash, the console and all the carpets, this includes the rear carpet, trim pieces and the speaker covers as well. Theres a lot, and if you are removing the black interior from another car, make sure to label everything and be very careful, 20 year old plastic pieces like the break easily.

All you need is black dash, black door panels, and black/gray carpet. Then get some black vinyl/fabric paint for the rest.

so you think I could make my old blue interior my new black interior? or do I need to at least get ahold of the inner door black pieces, the dash, and the center consol?

you can dye it all yourself it all depends on how much masking and how much u want take out to paint

i started doing this to my 88 vert that has blue interior. i got the door panels and the back carpet all the plastic stuff from another vert that had black interior. and yes be VERY carefull the plastic might break i had a couple of pieces break on me but they're not that bad. so now my interior is black and blue

Heck, you might even be able to use RIT dye for any plastic as well. I know it works to dye urathane skateboard wheels, so if you're going to get rid of the stuff anyway it's worth a shot.
