Ceramic wires

I emailed the sales department at Jacobs about purchasing some plug wires for my 87 TII. He emailed me back and it sounds like i could get a pretty good deal on their new ceramic wires. Do I really need the ceramic capped wires or will the normal ones be fine?

Cheers

The factory wires work best. The jacobs wires are good, but the boots are terrible. The rest of the aftermarket wires are junk and a waste of money.

I'm running Racing Beat's Red Hots wires in my '88 Vert and '85 SE. Excellent results. Guess that's partly why I'm a RB fan in general

I havta disagree with the statement that aftermarket wires are crap.
I don't really know what to expect from other brands because I have never tried them, but I just put on a set of MSD 8.5mm wires, with 40ohm/foot resistance!!! (not 40,000!!) I didn't really notice a power increase, maybe you would on a dyno, who knows, but the engine runs much smoother at all rpm ranges, it was a 50$ upgrade I wish I would have done before a lot of other things. A definate improvement in engine manners.

-Anyone think that wires have given them extra power??

I've had great results with NGK Magnetic Suppression Wiring and Magnecor wires (8.5 are plenty good enough for stock ignition).
