CD player install....which wire for ignition?

I'm trying to install a cd deck into my s5. The previous owner who had the car had his player stolen. So the wires are hacked. No biggie since I will rewire the speakers with better wire. I got the ground hooked up, 12v constant, illumination, but I can't figure out where to tap into a igntion wire. Can anyody give me an idea what color wire or where to splice. I know I can hook up to the 12v constant but would rather not.

do you have a test light, or a bulb with 2 wires one for ground one for positive? use that and you will not have a problem.

ok went out to my car to look for you, im in the process of putting a new cd player in. My old one expired due to old age. The blue with white stripe wire is your ignition and the blue with red stripe is main power. buy a test light if you dont have one though very handy for every needs.

I got so many wires that were cut when the radio was stolen. I'm doing process of elimination by pulling the old speakers and looking at what color wire they have. I figured out the rear speaker wires. Looks like there is more than 1 blue w/ white stripe. I guess i'll try and use my voltmeter.
I also checked my antenna which was ripped off. It is the non power, cuz I checked under the antenna mount. Is it possible to fit one of the rubber mast type. Looks like it won't fit cuz the hole on the wing is too small unless I take the wing off and mount it first.

just take a multimeter...ground your black lead to the chassis...turn your ignition to accessory (so that your radio would normally turn on)...then take your postive lead and hit all the open wires...only 2 or 3 should show 12v (one is your constant, which you already have)....while showing 12v on one of the other leads...turn the ignition off....if the 12v drops to 0...you found accessory. That should take alot less time than pulling your door panels off and removing speakers to eliminate leads.

Isn't this in the FAQ?

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...72#post5131072

Now if you want an IGN source, then you will have to go to the black/white wire around the ignition switch.

why wouldn't you just read the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section and read all about the stereo power and speaker wires?

Rubber short antennas suck, you be bummed after putting one in at the reduced reception.

And next time read the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this the 2nd gen technical section. It has many of the commonly asked questions such s the stereo wires, that you started this thread with.
