Carpet

Is there a difference in the rear hatch carpet from year to year. The carpet in my car doesn't entirely cover the bin structure on the sides, see picture.

Not that I know of, and seeing as how all the bins are interchangeable, they must be the same size.

What is going on in my car then?

There is no way the carpet holes line up with the bin holes to place the plastic rivets in to hold it in place. the carpet in my other '88 fits in and covers the bins where the picture shows the bare bin structure in this case. The carpet fits perfect everywhere else...

The cut of the carpet is definitely different from the carpet in my other Rx-7, there is no cut back toward the center of the car. Its very weird. I would put it in instead, but its gray, not black. I didn't think there was any difference in interior carpeting.

S5's have auto belts which use wider, lower b-pillars and that carpet is from an S5. You have manual belts, if your sig is correct and you have an 88 TII. That means you have the thinner b-pillars and the bin box frame is a little wider but the carpet was cut for the thinner frame and wider b-pillars.
