Cargo net

judging from the snaps in the hatch, i would guess the car came stock with a cargo net or something like. where can i get one or does anyone have a way you rigged one in. thought about ghetto rigging one from autozone but wanted to see what you guys did first.

I don't think that would be considered ghetto rigging (no duct tape involved). Spending 5 times the money at the dealer would be stupid for something so simple and universal. Get one at an auto parts store that is about the same width and make it work. It's not a very complicated item, so getting it to fit should be fairly easy. After all it's just a net with some hooks on it.

i didn't say i was going to the dealer. geez, i'd have to have the intelligence of a small grapefruit. i was trying to see what other memebers have done and if they had any suggestions on the best/cheapest way to rig it.

Actually it's a cargo cover that snaps into that. You should also have "hangers" inside the hatch and some holes in the rear strut tower speaker covers that's holds the cover in place as well.

The cargo cover adds 15 beauty points to your interior. I bought a new one from the local mazda dealership and I HIGHLY recommend these.

Also the moonroof windguard adds 5 beauty points to the outside as well. The mudflaps look nice, but take away 5 points. The OEM ground effects/areo package add 15 points.

lol, not in it for points. just looking to keep the stuff in the rear when i'm drifting with my mad skillz, lol. how much was the cover? i only have one clothes hook and its behind the driver seat. there are three snaps behind the bins and one each on the carpet of the strut towers.

They aren't cheap for sure, $300 or more. For me it's worth it for OEM accessories you can't buy aftermarket.

You can fab one though for much cheaper. You'll just need some wood/cardboard paneling, hangers, thick cloth, snaps, black rope, thin auto carpeting, glue, & box cutter/knife.

You can also buy the retractable kind (similar to roll up blinds).
