Their prices compare with most other carbon firber hoods out there. If you want to save money, but their lightweight fiberglass TII hood & paint it.

Yea it cost fc3s.org a lot to build those hoods, very nice though, i got mine used for under $400.00 with the headlight covers.

Well if you go to Seven stock and buy 100 in tickets hopefully you win and get a $100 CF hood otherwise you lost $100. hehe

In the US FC3s.org is the only company making CF hoods.

There are a couple CF hoods from Japan but it costs an arm and a leg to ship and buy them.

RE Amemiya FC2000 hood might be FG or CF but I'm not really sure. That thing is 1k but soooo damn sexy. I was thinking of taking my NA hood and modding it into the FC2000 hood.

Well if you want to replace the dent and repaint the hood, it might cost you near $500 bucks depending on where you go. If you get the Carbon Fiber, you go lighter, and you don't have to worry about scratches, cuz there is no paint on it. Hope that helps.

There isn't paint but the resin will etch that's why some people will spray a layer of clear coat over them to help protect it.

Anyone know any benifits to fiberglass vs carbon fiber? I've noticed the CF is generally just a little more expensive. I would like to know why.

carbon fiber is slightly lighter than the fiber glass. I think structurally they are almost the same.

cf is stronger ... and its all the rage right now. Hence why its more expensive.

of course i forgot to mention the first time i posted this, so im editing it. CF hoods arent all good. You must make sure the quality of the hood is excellent. This has happend with a few people i know, and has recently happend to me and a close friend. We were driving down the road around 110 mph when his cf hood literally ripped off, coming up and smashing the windshield. We pulled over to investigate to find that the pins held up, but the hood broke where the pins had been drilled. The underside of the hood was completely busted, and the top had big holes in it from where it busted over the hood pins. (even with the metal washers in place)

so be careful who you have make your hood. Lots of shitty ones out there.

well depends on how you look at it.....its been said that if you can lose 10 pounds of weight from your car and your able to trap at 100 mph in the 1/4 mile than youll cut a tenth of a second off of your e.t. that be a 14.01 to a 13.91...to some people that means everything to them and to make it all better a CF hood is just dam sexy.

Spending over 500 dollars on go upgrades will probably get you more than a tenth. something like a wet nitrou kit would probably net you a lot. Specially on an N/a. Its atleast 500 bucks plus another 150 for shipping. That equals 90~ for a walbro fuel pump and another 500 to drop on a nitrous oxide kit. Bam!! here comes another 50-100hp.
