How hard are they to install? Dies it require any wire harness cutting? Is it worth the high price tag?

Take it from a guy familiar with efi and all carbs but weber/dellorto. The stock efi system on a second gen is very well developed, don't mess with a good thing please....

You'll need to figure out something for ignition, maybe a megasquirt running the stock stuff (the stock computer needs the AFM, which isn't used with carbs, so it won't work), maybe a first gen distributor (not as good a solution). You'll also need a low pressure fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator, you'll need a new manifold, you'll need to fab something to get filtered outside air to the carbs or else you'll be injesting grit and hot air into the engine, not good. You'll need to figure out the throttle cable and a bunch of other miscellanious things. It's won't be a simple weekend job.

All else being equal, EFI is better. I'd suggest looking into doing a weber style ITB setup instead.
