well i went out to my car today to start it and it does nothing. all my lights come on and what not i have electrical power to everything. when i turn the key i get nothing no noise the car does nothing except the idiout clucter lights come on. i tried a search but i got stuff that was more related to a flood. can anyone help its a 87 sport. my thought is the starter but i dont knwo to much about this cars yet. any ideas on how i can atleast figure out what is wrong. if you need more info let me know. the var ran beautifully last night on my way home frmo work.

 

Before the current problem, to start the car, did you have to depress the clutch pedal for the starter to work? That would be normal on a car that has a Interlock switch on the clutch pedal. MOST RX have this feature. Some early ones did not and some have been disabled due to problems with the interlock. So the question needs to be answered to be able to figure this out.
