Question car wont start

ok i have a 1990 rx7 turbo ll. well the problem started when i ran out of gas one day in the drive way and the first thing i thought was fuel pump is bad or fuel filter is clogged but i checked both and everything checks out ok there but then i checked my leading and trailing coil packs and only my trailing coil pack is firing so i bought i new leading coil pack for 249 dollars and that didnt fix it so now i have an extra brand new leading coil pack and no running rx7, the 7 dose turn and turn and turn when i try to start it but no fire. could it be my ignitor? how much is that to fix if so? or could it be the computer? the car has been sitting since oct. due to the fact i had no money or job( small town no place needing help)

i'm in a similar situation, here are some things to check i guess. my car has been sitting since aug 08. next step is push starting. some people say that it works wonders.

I'm just curious, have you checked to see if it's flooded? It kind of sounds to me that it might be.
That seems to be a relatively common problem with these cars.

I'm quite certain that, if it is flooded, you will easily find a thread explaining how to fix it.
If it turns out to be the problem, it won't cost you anything to fix.
If it isn't flooded, well, you will have the problem narrowed a bit more.

Namaste,
Twisted

i dont really know how to check if its flooded or how to check compression but i look for the thread and iv tried push starting it and nothing happens. im still confused as to why my leading coil doesnt spark. also my car does smell like gas when i try to start. i bought new spark plugs for both leading and trailing but the fuel in my car has been in my car sitting for since the problem so the fuel is old. well thanks to both of you and i hope i can my 7 up and running but till then i have to drive my talon tsi.
